Women Empowerment %26 SHG > SHG


Women empowerment through promotion of livelihoods is a major thrust area of BCT. In this context, BCT has been actively involved in formation of Self-Help-Groups in its all the target villages in Rajasthan.In Churu District in FY 2010-11 BCT formed 56 new SHG's & have in total of 1296 SHG's with 14760 women in this program and all were linked to bank. Total borrowing of them in FY 2010-11 was Rs. 18.00 lakhs.

In partnership with NABARD, BCT has been implementing the promotion and linkage of 250 SHGs in 74 villages of 17 Gram Panchayats of Aspur block since September, 2010. A total of 37 SHGs were formed and linked with the bank up to March, 2011.

Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY)

This program is aimed to uplift the socio-economic status of BPL families through formation of SHGs. During the year 2010-11 a total of 141 SHGs were formed under this program in Aspur block of Dungarpur district.

Skill based Training Programs-Rajasthan Mission on Livelihood (RMoL)

In partnership with The Rajasthan Mission on Livelihoods BCT trained 50 women (25 each) in sewing, stitching and make-up artists in the villages of Rajgarh block of Churu district during 2010-11. As a result of their new skills, these women were able to bring additional income to their family and make a better living. Focused on empowerment of youth, 47 persons were trained in computer Hardware with EDP and Make-up Artist in Pali district during 2010-11 with the assistance of RMoL.

In Dungarpur district 10 batches of skill training programs were conducted in different trades with the assistance of RMoL. During the year 2010-11 a total of 250 youths were trained through this program. Apart from this, skill based training program on electrical fitting was conducted in Rajsamand district through mobile van during 2010-11.
