Education > Residential School Program for Girls (Barmer)


In support of SSA, and with an objective to provide and improve the education level among the children who have never enrolled in schools, belonging to SC/ST/OBC/SBC, the organization is running a special residential school program for girls and boys of age group 11-14 yrs., in remote and backward areas of Barmer & Jalore districts of Rajasthan. The students are being admitted to class VI, VII & VIII where they are getting education, food, books, dress and residential facilities etc. at no cost. Garment stitching training was also provided to the girls after the classes so that they also earn their livelihoods in the future. This year, 98 Girls in total were enrolled at Barmer and 88 Boys at Jalore Residential Schools.

Similarly, SSA supported Residential School cum Hostel is being managed by BCT at Kota and imparting education to children of backward area by enrolling/admitting them to class VI, VII and VIII. Along with education, BCT is providing them free food, books, dress and residential facilities to the students. The present strength of the school is 50 boys (SC-31, ST-6, OBC-10, & General-3). Around 160+ best quality sports items like badminton rackets, skipping rope, water bottles, cricket kits, tennis bolls, football, school bags and education material such as handwriting improving work books, dictionaries, crayons and painting workbooks, etc., were provided by BCT free of cost, for the mental and physical development of the children at Kota Residential School. During the summer period, nearly 70 blankets were distributed to the students free of cost by BCT.
