In support of Department of Science & Technology (DST), New Delhi Project Help by Wash on Health, Education & Livelihood Promotion by Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Awareness (WASH) was implemented in 50 villages of Rajgarh block, district Churu to benefit a population of 1.25 lacs. Project initiated in Feb 2014 which aims to improve the health and learning performance of school-aged children – and, by extension, that of their families – by reducing the incidence of water and sanitation related diseases. Every child friendly school requires appropriate WASH initiatives that keep the school environment clean and free of smells and inhibit the transmission of harmful bacteria, viruses and parasites etc. This year, awareness on WASH to achieve millennium development Goals (MGDs) created among the community by the formation of 50 Gram Jal Swachata Samitti, CBOs & focus group discussions in 50 villages and SHGs meetings in 50 villages and conducted 80 Balpanchayat workshops on WASH.
