In support of National Blindness Control Program (NPCB) of Govt. of India & District Blindness Control Society (DBCS), BCT has performed 1715 free cataract surgeries through rural & urban eye camps for the poor population of Hanumangarh, Churu, Dungarpur & Jaipur districts of Rajasthan. This year, 28 eye camps were organized. 3788 patients turned up for OPD out of which 1738 patients got benefited through cataract surgeries. Since 1984 to 2015, through secondary eye care services & interventions BCT has restored the vision of around 43,000 beneficiaries from cataract.

Eye Screening Program for School Children:

In the year 2014-15, with the support of National Blindness Control Program (NPCB) of Govt. of India 7254 students were screened in 02 districts (Churu & Dungarpur) of Rajasthan through 85 Schools. This year 600 free spectacles were distributed to the affected School children by BCT.

Low Vision Program for School Children under SSA:

Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) project and in support of Rajasthan Council of Elementary Education (RCEE), the Low Vision Program was implemented by BCT to correct the vision of school children (age 06-14 years) through performing Cornea surgeries (i.e. Keratoplasty) and treating them according to their eye visual status in all the 33 districts of Rajasthan. This year, 2515 school children were screened at 33 camp sites and the vision of 87 children corrected through surgeries whereas 1449 spectacles and 207 low vision devices distributed free of cost to the children.
